1st September and already the nights are  drawing in and the night time temperatures dropping, although the days are sunnier and warmer than most of this "summer" has been.  It has been the wettest summer since 1812!
Leaving wet and windy Cornwall (where I gained my "day-skipper" motor-sailing qualification), we have returned to what is potentially going to be an "Indian summer"...  I do hope so  :)

"GOLD" at the New Forest & Hampshire County Show!!
Simply exhausted after the last two weeks of constructing, (wo)manning and dismantling our "garden" display at the New Forest Show.  We've done two displays before, but never been entered into the competition gardens, so were surprised, amazed and delighted to win GOLD for our "Dragonfly garden" - "a display to show that a wildlife-friendly garden need not be a patch of weeds."   It was worth all the heat and exhaustion and so lovely to have Alan Titchmarsh visit the "garden" and be so complimentary about it!

Now, I've just about recovered, everything is stored away, the plants back on the nursery and I'm ready to resume normal life, but, in my head, I'm already planning next year's display!

Going sailing tomorrow...  then back to work designing real gardens  :)
Dragged, kicking & screaming, into the 21st Century... by my teenage sons!  Yesterday, I set up "Facebook" and "Twitter" sites, today a "Blog".
My DH persuaded me that this would be a useful repository for "all things gardening" and a way of enabling friends and clients to see what is going on with our garden design and nursery business.  So here we are...  Welcome one and all :)
